A few years ago I was designing tattoos in AutoCAD, treating every curve with the precision of an engineer. Today, Visit Brussels, the city's official tourism guide, has included me in their list of the best places to get inked in Brussels. It's a strange and wonderful full-circle moment, and I wanted to share it here.
From engineering to fine line
I started tattooing in 2018, alongside a career in engineering that began a few years earlier. What began as applying technical precision to design slowly turned into something more instinctive: anatomy-led, flow-inspired work built around the idea that every body has its own movement, and every line should belong to it. Since then I've done over 4,000 tattoos across four countries, and in 2022 I brought that practice with me to Brussels, where I now work out of L'Abeille Blanche on Rue des Brasseurs, appointment only, on Saturdays or Sundays.
Why this feature matters
Being included alongside other respected studios in the city's own tourism guide is a meaningful kind of recognition, not from an algorithm or a review platform, but from Brussels itself, as a place worth visiting for its tattoo culture.
